[Hyperliquid Establishes DeFi-Focused Policy Center Led by Renowned Crypto Lawyer Jake Chervinsky]
According to *Fortune* magazine, decentralized derivatives trading platform Hyperliquid has officially launched the Hyperliquid Policy Center in Washington, D.C., with veteran crypto lawyer Jake Chervinsky serving as its inaugural CEO. The center aims to create a legal pathway for the widespread adoption of DeFi in the United States, assist Congress and federal agencies in understanding the underlying technology of DeFi, and provide expert support for regulatory rule-making. Chervinsky stated that the current regulatory framework, developed during the analog era, is incapable of addressing new forms of trading such as decentralized protocols. One of the center's primary tasks is to establish a legal framework for perpetual contracts.
The Hyperliquid-affiliated foundation has donated 1 million native platform tokens, HYPE (currently valued at approximately $28 million), to support the center's operations. The founding team also includes Policy Advisor Brad Bourque (former Sullivan & Cromwell LLP attorney) and Policy Director Salah Ghazzal (former Variant Policy Head). The center is currently hiring for positions such as Chief of Staff, Communications Director, and Government Relations Director.
