Recently, the Bitcoin community proposed a new improvement proposal, BIP-110, aiming to limit the size of non-monetary data (like Ordinals inscriptions) in transactions through a soft fork, in order to address the issue of 'junk data' taking up block space. However, the proposal has sparked controversy. Adam Back stated that BIP-110 might harm Bitcoin's reputation as a reliable store of value and secure asset, arguing that its negative impact could outweigh the so-called 'junk transactions' themselves.
