To be honest, it's been a long time since we last saw such a 'cross circle' collaboration.
On one side is Alibaba Cloud, which supports Alibaba's entire digital empire, and on the other side is @ AnichessGame, Animoca's own son and endorsed by the chess king Carlson.
One is a cloud computing giant, and the other is a Web3 player. This combination used to only fantasize in PPTs, but now they have actually signed a MOU to jointly build the next generation of AI and Web3 "Build and Earn" platform - AliBaE.
CHECK's 25% surge is just a appetizer, but what's even more worth pondering is that this alliance of "traditional powerhouse+native projects" may become the main theme of this year.
First, let's talk about the background. The concept of Vibe Coding has become completely popular this year, using natural language to let AI help you write code with an incredibly low threshold. I also use Openclaw, Claude, and cursor every day.
But after playing for a while, I found a very practical problem:
The code has been written, and then what?
For us non professional developers, Vibe Coding only solves the problem of "going from 0 to 1". But from "code" to "product", and then to "users" and "revenue", there is a whole chain of deployment, distribution, operation, and monetization in between.
Most people's Vibe Coding results end up lying in their local folders and eating dust.
What AliBaE wants to do is to connect this link.
According to the official statement, using the Alibaba Qwen AI suite to help you turn your ideas into code and publish them on the AliBaE platform, successful applications can receive CHECK token rewards.
It sounds like the "Build and Earn" version of the app store. But to be honest, we have long been tired of listening to the narrative of 'X to Earn'. Play to Earn, Move to Earn, Learn to Earn... Most of them end up becoming Ponzi games, rewarding newcomers with their money without creating real value.
But the logic of 'Build to Earn' is still quite different.
Creation itself is creating value. If you use AI to create a useful tool, an interesting little game, or an application that solves practical problems, these things have real needs.
The design of AliBaE is: creators submit applications → community voting screening → high-quality applications receive CHECK rewards and traffic support → user usage generates revenue → revenue flows back to creators and the ecosystem.
This is more like a combination of a decentralized App Store and a creator fund.
And this model is in line with the VibeCheck ecosystem that Anichess is currently working on. They have been incubating strategy games using similar mechanisms before, and now it is equivalent to extending this gameplay to a wider range of application areas, while introducing Alibaba Cloud's AI capabilities and infrastructure as underlying support.
In the past, there were Web3 projects and collaborations with traditional big companies, but many times it was a "nominal collaboration" where there was no follow-up after just a press release.
But this cooperation framework seems to have substantial content:
-Alibaba Cloud offers free quota for Qwen AI suite, reducing the threshold for creativity
-Alibaba Cloud provides enterprise level cloud infrastructure to solve deployment and scaling issues
-Alibaba Group and Alibaba_QWEN official channels assist in promotion
-Anichess is responsible for Web3 integration, token economy design, and community operations
-CHECK serves as an incentive layer for the entire ecosystem
Both sides take what they need: Alibaba Cloud needs Web3 scenarios to expand Qwen's application boundaries, while Anichess needs top-level AI capabilities to support Build and Earn's vision.
And Aniches is not the kind of project that only knows how to draw pancakes. They have been dedicated to building for three years, with over a million gamers and 400000 active users in PVP mode, of which over 10% are paying players. Anichess Puzzles, which was recently launched on Base, received a recommendation on the Baseapp homepage within 3 days.
Only when there are products, users, and income, can we have the confidence to negotiate terms with large companies for such projects.
The market reaction of a 25% increase in CHECK also indicates that in the current market situation, there are not many projects that can have substantial positive effects, and the market still recognizes this combination of "products+endorsement from big companies".
My personal judgment is that the integration of AI and Web3 will be one of the main storylines this year. But what can come out are definitely those projects with real products, endorsement from big companies, and clear monetization paths.
The AliBaE platform has not been officially launched yet, but I will continue to monitor this direction. If you are also playing Vibe Coding or interested in Build and Earn mode, you can follow @ AnichessGame and @ alibaba_cloud for further updates.
