[Qwen3.5-Plus Tops as the World's Most Powerful Open-Source Model] Jin10 News, February 16 – Alibaba has open-sourced its new generation large model, Qwen3.5-Plus, which has claimed the title of the world's most powerful open-source model. Qwen3.5 marks a generational leap from a pure text model to a native multimodal model. Qwen3 was pre-trained on pure text tokens, while Qwen3.5 is pre-trained on a mix of visual and text tokens, with a significant increase in data for Chinese, English, multiple languages, STEM, and reasoning. This allows the large model, now with "eyes," to acquire more comprehensive world knowledge and reasoning logic. Despite using less than 40% of the parameters, it achieves top-tier performance comparable to the trillion-parameter Qwen3-Max base model. It has demonstrated outstanding results across benchmarks in reasoning, programming, and Agent intelligence.
