[Tajikistan Reportedly Plans to Launch Gold ATM Service] According to Jin10, the Central Bank of Tajikistan plans to launch a project this year. The operating principle is straightforward: customers can pay for selected gold bars using a bank card and directly retrieve physical gold from the machine. Some machines will also offer a gold buyback function. Currently, gold ATMs are already operational in the UAE and South Korea, primarily located in airports and shopping malls. Since 2017, gold bars have been sold at the Central Bank of Tajikistan's headquarters in Dushanbe and several commercial banks. Reportedly, the introduction of the gold ATM service aims to simplify the gold purchasing process, enhancing convenience by eliminating queues and cumbersome procedures. The country's central bank governor revealed that approximately 200 kilograms of gold bars, valued at around $23.74 million, were sold in 2025. The primary customer base consists of ordinary residents who view gold as a savings tool.
