This morning, I came across an interview with Binance's former Listing Manager. After dealing with 1000+ projects, his conclusion is: no one in crypto cares about the long term. The price is determined by just three things: liquidity, traffic (attention), and token distribution.
This perspective goes against the mainstream Web3 narrative but reflects two cold realities: most crypto projects are here to make quick money, not to "build" anything; and for the very few projects that do keep building, their token prices often look terrible.
So, you'll notice that diamond hands get mocked, while day traders are praised to the skies. I’m one of those diamond hands you all ruthlessly ridicule, watching XION drop from 1 to 0.1. Not only did I not sell, but I’m also actively contributing to the project.
If I had to explain why, it boils down to two reasons: first, I have a big position in it, so not building would be irresponsible to myself; second, the @burnt_xion team has stayed active post-TGE, making progress across tech, community, and ecosystem. Just recently, they launched the first protocol-level DKIM module, becoming the first blockchain to store email authentication keys on-chain, enabling truly trustless email verification for the first time.
In plain terms, this means proving the content of an email without revealing the email itself. For example, if you’re an employee at a company, you could anonymously report your boss’s misconduct while still proving your identity.
During this process, the system verifies your identity through your corporate email domain without exposing any personal information, protecting you from retaliation.
According to official data, XION’s DKIM module is already compatible with Gmail and Apple Mail, covering 3.8 billion users globally. Combined with 150+ existing brand partnerships, its future applications will only expand further.
Here’s to hoping XION takes off in the new year and finally gets the recognition it deserves. Let’s go, @BurntBanksy!
