**[OpenAI Launches First Model Using Cerebras Chip to Reduce Dependence on NVIDIA]**
According to a report by Jinse Finance, OpenAI has released its first artificial intelligence model running on chips from semiconductor startup Cerebras Systems, named GPT-5.3-Codex-Spark. This is part of OpenAI's initiative to expand its range of chip suppliers and reduce reliance on NVIDIA. The model is positioned as a low-power yet faster version of the latest Codex automated programming software. The Spark version is scheduled for release on Thursday, enabling software engineers to quickly complete tasks such as editing specific code snippets and running tests. Users can also interrupt operations at any time or instruct the model to perform other programming-related tasks without waiting for lengthy computation processes to finish.
Last month, OpenAI signed a deal worth over $10 billion to use Cerebras hardware to enhance the responsiveness of its AI models. For Cerebras, this collaboration provides significant support in its efforts to gain market share in a sector long dominated by NVIDIA. For OpenAI, the partnership represents its latest move to expand suppliers in order to meet the growing demand for computing power.
