#ThroneSpeech: In 2025/26, the Government advanced Jamaica’s creative economy, strengthened gender equality, protected cultural heritage, and supported national sporting excellence. A Joint Select Committee is reviewing the National Policy for Culture, Entertainment and the Creative Economy (2025–2035), which will guide long-term sector growth and inform a new Culture, Entertainment and Creative Economy Act. To safeguard integrity in sport, amendments to the Anti-Doping in Sport Act (2014) and updated JADCO rules will ensure full alignment with the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code.(Andrew Holness)
