#ThroneSpeech: Despite the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, which resulted in losses exceeding ten billion Jamaican dollars, Jamaica’s water sector demonstrated resilience and rapid recovery. By December 2025, water services had been restored to more than 90% of customers, and we are now at 95%.
Our emergency response capacity was strengthened through the procurement of twelve (12) additional water trucks, adding one hundred and forty-six thousand (146,000) litres of emergency supply per cycle.(Andrew Holness)
