[Bithumb: No compensation information for the 'Bitcoin misdelivery' incident has been released yet, beware of phishing scams] Odaily Planet Daily reports that South Korean crypto exchange Bithumb has issued an announcement stating that phishing messages and texts impersonating 'Bitcoin misdelivery incident compensation notifications' have recently appeared, attempting to steal users' personal information and assets. The official statement emphasizes that as of 18:00 on February 12, 2026, the platform has not sent any individual notifications related to 'compensation distribution' or 'victim status inquiry.' Bithumb stated that subsequent compensation-related notifications will not include URL links and will only be communicated through official customer service channels. Additionally, users will not be asked to provide sensitive information such as account details, passwords, or authentication data. The official reminder urges users not to click on any links related to compensation and to be cautious of messages containing keywords like 'compensation' or 'victim inquiry.' If users encounter suspected scams or have already suffered losses, they should promptly report to the police and apply for account freezing. Bithumb also emphasized that the platform will not request personal information via text messages or emails, nor will it ask users to transfer crypto assets.
