The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce answers questions from reporters regarding the final ruling of the anti subsidy investigation on imported dairy products originating from the European Union
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce answered questions from reporters regarding the final ruling of the anti subsidy investigation on imported dairy products originating from the European Union. A reporter asked: On February 12th, the Ministry of Commerce issued a final announcement on the investigation of anti subsidy measures against imported dairy products originating from the European Union. Can you introduce the situation of the case? Answer: In response to domestic industry applications, the Ministry of Commerce launched a countervailing investigation on imported dairy products originating from the European Union on August 21, 2024. The Ministry of Commerce, based on the principles of fairness, impartiality, openness, and transparency, conducted investigations in strict accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations and WTO rules, extensively listened to the opinions of various stakeholders, fully protected the rights of all parties, and formed objective and fair investigation conclusions. The ruling report indicates that there are subsidies for imported dairy products originating from the European Union, which have caused substantial damage to China's related industries, and the causal relationship between subsidies and substantial damage is established. The Ministry of Commerce issued a final ruling announcement on February 12, 2026, ruling that the EU corporate tax rate is 7.4% -11.7%, and deciding to implement anti subsidy measures from February 13, 2026, with a period of 5 years.
