Early this morning, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution 219-211 attempting to end the national emergency that Trump used as the basis for imposing tariffs on Canada.
But please note, this doesn’t mean the tariffs have stopped. Next, the Senate needs to pass a similar resolution, and the President must sign it for it to take effect. If the President vetoes it, both chambers would need a 2/3 majority to override the veto.
Maybe waiting for the Supreme Court would be faster.
