[The UK FCA has filed a lawsuit against HTX, accusing it of illegally promoting cryptocurrency services] According to The Block, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has filed a lawsuit against the cryptocurrency exchange HTX, accusing it of continuously promoting cryptocurrency asset services to UK consumers illegally, in violation of financial promotion regulations. The FCA stated that HTX has published unauthorized financial promotional content on its website and social media platforms such as TikTok, X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. The agency had previously issued warnings to HTX regarding this matter, but the company continued to release non-compliant information. The FCA noted that HTX's corporate structure is opaque, and multiple attempts to contact the company have gone unanswered. Currently, HTX has taken measures to restrict new user registrations, but the FCA stated that existing UK users can still access the illegal promotional content, and the company has not guaranteed that such restrictions are permanent. The FCA has requested social media platforms to block HTX accounts for UK users and has asked Apple and Google app stores to remove the HTX application in the UK. HTX has now been added to the FCA's warning list.
