[Dong Lijuan from the National Bureau of Statistics: PPI Continues to Rise Month-on-Month, Year-on-Year Decline Narrows] Jin10 News, February 11 – Dong Lijuan, Chief Statistician of the Urban Department at the National Bureau of Statistics, stated that the Producer Price Index (PPI) rose by 0.4% month-on-month, marking the fourth consecutive month of increase, with the growth rate expanding by 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month. The continued advancement of the construction of a unified national market has driven price increases in certain industries. Increased demand has also led to price rises in related industries. The accelerated development of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and the growing demand for computing power have driven a 0.5% month-on-month increase in prices in the computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries, with prices for electronic semiconductor materials and external storage devices and components rising by 5.9% and 4.0%, respectively. External factors have caused a divergence in price trends for domestic non-ferrous metals and petroleum-related industries. The rise in international non-ferrous metal prices has driven month-on-month price increases of 5.7% and 5.2% in the domestic non-ferrous metal mining and dressing industry and the non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry, respectively.
