After reading @VitalikButerin's Ethereum x AI piece, here's my take on what the architecture can be👇
1. Execution Layer
The complex inference work remains off-chain to avoid computational overhead. This layer consists of the LLMs and a proof producer.
Its sole responsibility is to generate an inference result coupled with a cryptographic attestation (ZK proofs or TEE attestations), proving that the output was derived from a specific, untampered model.
2. Governance Layer: #ERC8004 Interface
The governance layer acts as the protocolized gateway. With the ERC-8004 standard, it processes the incoming proofs via three sub-registries:
- Identity: Assigns a persistent UUID to the agent.
- Reputation: Logs historical accuracy to establish trust.
- Validation: Verifies the off-chain proof before allowing any logic to proceed to the settlement stage.
3. Settlement Layer
Once validated, the agent’s output enters this layer. Assets are allocated through smart wallets, and rewards or penalties are triggered within DeFi protocols, prediction markets etc. based on the agent's verified performance.
This decoupled framework ensures that @ethereum remains model-agnostic while ensuring capital safety. The value capture occurs at the governance layer through reputation accumulation and at the settlement layer through high-trust transactions.(Jiawei)
