According to Deep Tide TechFlow on February 9, as reported by Sing Tao Daily, the Hong Kong Chief Executive's Policy Unit held a digital finance seminar, attended by members including the research team from the People's Bank of China Financial Research Institute, members of the Web3.0 Development Task Force, and former HKMA Chief Executive Norman Chan. Norman Chan stated that 'cryptocurrencies are neither the only encrypted entities nor currencies' and pointed out that assets like Bitcoin lack monetary attributes, raising the need for regulatory measures in areas such as anti-money laundering and investor protection. Participants also suggested that Hong Kong could explore enhancing digital wallet monitoring and tracking of illegal activities in the future to build market trust.
