[Korean Media: 125 Bitcoin mistakenly sent by Bithumb still not recovered, over 80 users have 'cashed out'] According to Korean media SBS, following a large-scale mistaken Bitcoin payment incident caused by operational errors at South Korean crypto exchange Bithumb, 125 Bitcoin (valued at approximately 13 billion KRW, or $8.88 million) have yet to be recovered. Investigations have confirmed that over 80 users have cashed out the mistakenly received Bitcoin. Among them, approximately 3 billion KRW in proceeds were transferred to personal bank accounts, while another 10 billion KRW was used by users to purchase other cryptocurrencies. Bithumb is currently contacting the relevant users, urging them to return the proceeds from the sales. Earlier reports stated that during the distribution of event rewards, Bithumb made an operational error, mistakenly issuing a total of 620,000 Bitcoin, of which 99.7% has been recovered.
