The cleanup in Black River is continuing, and when you see the work on the ground, it really shows the scale of what had to be done and what still has to be done. Many of you remember the market, it was completely destroyed by Hurricane Melissa. What was left was just twisted metal and debris. We had to carefully take it down piece by piece before we could even begin the real cleanup. I am pleased to say that the contractors are now in the final phase of clearing the market area. We are also carrying out cleanup across the wider community. The National Solid Waste Management Authority is working, and teams are being deployed to reach all affected areas. This kind of work takes time and patience, but it is like nothing we have ever done before. We are tackling it bit by bit, and we remain committed to fully cleaning up Black River.(Andrew Holness)
