[Tether Assists Turkey in Freezing $544 Million in Illegal Crypto Assets] According to a report by Jinse Finance, Tether, at the request of Turkish authorities, has frozen over $544 million in crypto assets linked to a suspected illegal online gambling and money laundering network. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that the company took freezing measures in accordance with the law after receiving information from law enforcement agencies. This collaboration is part of Tether's global compliance efforts, which have previously included cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice and the FBI. Data from analytics firm Elliptic shows that by the end of 2025, Tether and Circle will have blacklisted approximately 5,700 wallets, freezing a total of around $2.5 billion in assets, of which about two-thirds are in USDT.
