The 2 common reasons we see Bitcoin Core maintainers leave the position: 1) Removed for inactivity / suspicious behavior. 2) Resign because they're exhausted from threats. I truly believe that maintainers (and any regular contributors) would be better off staying anonymous.(Jameson Lopp)
