Over the last decade, Jamaica has made real transformation. All the major international rating agencies, which give an objective view of the country, have given Jamaica a positive outlook or even improved our rating. These agencies consider our schools, hospitals, roads, security, and how these affect the economy. Their ratings show that our country is being well managed and that fiscal discipline is working. Fiscal discipline is essential, but it alone cannot deliver the growth we need. We must improve how our institutions work. We are reforming how public projects are planned and managed, how procurement and contracts are handled, and how licenses and permits are issued. These reforms will make government more efficient, support investment, and create opportunities for our people.(Andrew Holness)
