One of Jamaica’s biggest challenges is too much bureaucracy. We have too many rules, too many steps, and too much waiting to get simple things done. We spend too much time on ceremony and paperwork, and not enough time on real action. Having systems and rules is not a bad thing. In fact, Jamaica’s systems are strong and give international partners confidence to work with us and invest in our country. The problem is that over time, our systems have become too complicated and too slow. What we need now is better governance. Less red tape, faster approvals, and easier access to services for ordinary Jamaicans. We must keep the standards high, but make the process simple. That is how we will grow the economy, attract investment, and deliver real results for our people.(Andrew Holness)
