[Gemini lays off 25% and exits the UK, EU, and Australian markets, pledging to double down on the US market] Foresight News reports that Gemini announced it has reduced its workforce by approximately 25%, citing AI's ability to create more value with fewer resources. The company stated, 'In 2022, our headcount peaked at around 1,100 employees. By the end of 2025, our size will be about 50% of that peak. Today, we have once again reduced our workforce by approximately 25%. We believe our current size is best suited to fulfill our mission.' Gemini also stated it will focus its efforts and double its investment in the US market. Founded in the US in 2015, Gemini has since expanded its operations to over 60 countries. The company explained, 'For various reasons, these overseas markets have been challenging to succeed in. We found ourselves struggling with organizational and operational complexities, leading to increased cost structures and slower growth. In addition to reducing our workforce, we will also exit the UK, EU, and Australian markets to narrow our business scope.'
