[Polymarket Team Member Accuses Kalshi of Data Fraud, Claims Its Esports Trading Volume Is Exaggerated by 26 Times]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on February 5, a member of the prediction market platform Polymarket, shampoo, posted on social media accusing competitor Kalshi of inflating its esports trading volume through data fraud. Shampoo stated that the platform artificially added approximately $1.7 billion in trading volume by introducing a generalized 'esports' category, while actual data shows its esports trading volume is only about $63 million, less than 10% of Polymarket's esports trading volume. Additionally, Kalshi reportedly double-counted the CS market by labeling it as both CS:GO and CS2. Shampoo mentioned on social media that users can verify this issue themselves by checking the API data in network requests.
