I thank the Council of the European Union for today’s decision – the legal framework has already been approved to provide Ukraine with €90 billion in financial assistance for 2026–2027. We expect all subsequent steps to be implemented as quickly as possible as well, because these funds are our financial security guarantee. It is important that, amid such vile Russian strikes on our energy sector, Europe is demonstrating that Ukraine will have long-term support. This assistance not only strengthens Ukraine across various areas, but also reinforces our position at the negotiating table.
