[Capital Economics: Eurozone Services Inflation Will Continue to Decline, ECB Expected to Cut Rates by Year-End]
Jin10 News, February 4 – Jack Allen-Reynolds of Capital Economics stated in a report that Eurozone services inflation is expected to fall further below the European Central Bank's (ECB) forecast in the coming months. The services inflation rate dropped from 3.4% in December to 3.2% in January, indicating that the upward trend observed from August to November last year has almost been fully reversed. With wage growth cooling and other leading indicators signaling a slowdown, services inflation is likely to continue declining, which will push the core inflation rate below 2% in the second half of this year and the overall inflation rate below 1.5%. 'This will be lower than the ECB's forecast, so we now expect a rate cut by the end of this year.'
