If even a small fraction of transactional deposit activity migrates to using stables in the US, not to mention globally, with yield sharing that provides base level onchain growth.. I’m not sure that should be categorized as a niche win. You have the US banking lobby going apoplectic right now at the idea, occupying the mind of even Jamie Dimon enough to go out of his way at Davos to attack Brian Armstrong. They are rightfully concerned.
Putting the centralized nature of stables aside, it’s a major step-function improvement in both usability/access and proximity to more permissionless onchain assets (going from multi-hop checking accounts to single hop stable)
