[Base: Previous transaction loss and delay caused by transaction propagation configuration changes]
Regarding the transaction loss and packaging delay issues on the Base network on January 31, the official statement explained that due to changes in transaction propagation configuration, block builders repeatedly retrieved transactions, but these transactions could not be executed due to the rapid increase in base fees. The team has mitigated the issue by rolling back the changes and has verified that network stability has been restored. Measures are being taken to prevent such issues from happening again and to improve response strategies.
These measures include optimizing the transaction pipeline, removing unnecessary P2P overhead, and adjusting the mempool queue—this work is expected to take about a month. Additionally, improvements are being made to the alert and change monitoring mechanisms during infrastructure change deployments.
