[Institution: Inflation concerns may keep the Bank of England on hold in 2026] Jinshi Data, February 3 – Laith Khalaf of AJ Bell stated in a report that, given the uncertainty surrounding the UK's inflation outlook and the global economic situation, the Bank of England may maintain interest rates unchanged throughout 2026. He noted that the market widely expects the Bank of England to keep interest rates at 3.75% in Thursday's rate decision. Currently, the UK's inflation rate stands at 3.4%, which remains significantly above the central bank's 2.0% target. According to LSEG data, the probability of the Bank of England holding rates steady this week is 96%. Khalaf remarked that persistent inflation concerns could hinder the Bank of England from initiating rate cuts in 2026.
