Epstein invested $3 million in Coinbase in 2014, Coinbase is aware of this Odaily Planet Daily News: According to email documents recently released by the US Department of Justice, Jeffrey Epstein invested approximately $3 million in Coinbase through his entity IGO Company LLC in 2014, participating in a Series C funding round valued at approximately $400 million at the time. Email correspondence shows that Coinbase co-founder Fred Ehrsam is aware of the investment and has expressed a desire to meet with Epstein to discuss relevant arrangements. The investment opportunity was initially facilitated by Brock Pierce, co-founder of Tether, and his venture capital firm Blockchain Capital. Blockchain Capital stated that Epstein did not invest through its fund, but directly completed the transaction as a personal entity. The asset list disclosed by the Department of Justice also shows that Epstein had a record of $3.001 million worth of "Coinbase purchase" assets under his name at the end of 2014. The relevant emails also show that Epstein sold half of his Coinbase stake to Blockchain Capital in 2018, cashing out approximately $15 million. In addition, the documents also show that Epstein had invested in Blockstream in the early days of encryption. As of now, Coinbase, Fred Ehrsam, and Brock Pierce have not made any further public responses regarding this matter.
