[Tether Announces Open Source Bitcoin Mining Operating System MOS and Mining SDK]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on February 3, according to official news, Tether announced the open-sourcing of its Mining Operating System (MOS), an operating system specifically designed for large-scale Bitcoin mining operations. MOS was officially unveiled at the 2026 El Salvador Plan ₿ Forum, offering end-to-end visualized management across mining sites by integrating hardware, energy, infrastructure, and operational data into a single unified system.
MOS adopts a peer-to-peer architecture with scalability, resilience, and modularity, supporting deployment scales ranging from small installations to large industrial sites. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated: "By open-sourcing our mining software stack, we enable new mining companies to enter the ecosystem, customize their operations, and compete on a more level playing field, ultimately enhancing the resilience of the Bitcoin network."
Additionally, Tether announced the Mining SDK, a framework built on MOS, which will be completed and released in collaboration with the open-source community in the coming months. The SDK is a modular toolkit that allows developers to build mining software without having to recreate device integration or operational primitives from scratch.
