It is reported that the suspect kidnapped the victim from his home in Walloon, Iser department in southeastern France in the early morning of January 25th and subjected him to 16 hours of torture, including cutting his fingers and cutting his face. The kidnapper sent a torture video to the victim's son through encrypted information, demanding payment of ransom. However, when the suspects discovered that the victim's son was not the "cryptocurrency millionaire" they mistakenly thought he was, but just a web developer without a large amount of cryptocurrency assets, they released the victim at 11 pm that same day.
