[Argentine Crypto Scam Suspect Arrested in Venezuela After 'Fleeing with $56 Million Worth of Bitcoin'] Odaily Planet Daily News – Venezuelan police have arrested Rosa María González, a suspect in the Generación Zoe fraud case, in San Cristóbal. The scam caused investors to lose at least $120 million. Generación Zoe leader Leonardo Cositorto previously stated that Rosa María González fled with 611 bitcoins, valued at approximately $56 million at the time, after the project collapsed in mid-2022. Investigations revealed that Generación Zoe attracted investors by promising returns as high as 7.5%, but it was actually a Ponzi scheme. Rosa María González had claimed that the trading algorithm she developed featured quantum security properties and could deliver monthly returns of up to 70%. During her time on the run in Venezuela, she was allegedly involved in planning a new scam project, promising a minimum investment of $1,000 with a monthly return rate of 5%. Currently, strained diplomatic relations between Argentina and Venezuela are complicating the extradition process.
