[Reports Claim JD.com Has Not Withdrawn Hong Kong Stablecoin License Application] According to Caixin, Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) Chief Executive Eddie Yue stated after the Financial Affairs Panel meeting on February 2, 2026, that a total of 36 institutions have submitted applications for stablecoin licenses. These include banks, tech companies, brokerages, asset management firms, investment companies, e-commerce platforms, payment institutions, startups, and web3 enterprises. Sources indicate that JD.com's subsidiary, JD Chain Technology (Hong Kong), has not withdrawn its stablecoin license application, despite earlier speculation that it had exited the race for the first batch of licenses. JD Chain Technology (Hong Kong) is also one of the three main participants in the stablecoin testing sandbox.
