[Epstein Files Exposed: Once Invested in Blockstream, Closely Connected to Bitcoin's Early Circle] According to a report by Jinse Finance, the Epstein files unsealed on January 30 reveal that he had connections with several key figures in the cryptocurrency industry during its formative years. Emails from 2014 confirm his participation in the $18 million oversubscribed seed round funding of Bitcoin infrastructure company Blockstream, increasing his personal investment from $50,000 to $500,000 through Joi Ito's fund at MIT Media Lab. Co-founder Austin Hill and Bitcoin pioneer Adam Back were both involved in the email exchanges. The files also show that in 2014, he discussed the definition of Bitcoin with Peter Thiel; in 2016, he proposed the creation of an Islamic cryptocurrency to an advisor to the Saudi royal family; in 2011, he described Bitcoin as smart but with serious flaws; and in 2017, he explicitly stated that Bitcoin was not worth purchasing. Additionally, the names of MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor and Kevin Warsh, Trump's newly nominated Federal Reserve Chair, appeared on the guest list for a 2010 New Year's party in St. Barts. The U.S. Department of Justice confirmed that the investigation found no evidence of Epstein using cryptocurrency for money laundering or regulatory evasion. His role was limited to high-level connections, occasional investments, and being an observer.
