[Vitalik Discusses Creator Token Design Ideas] Odaily Planet Daily News: Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin shared his thoughts on creator token design on the X platform, pointing out that the crypto industry has seen limited overall success in content incentivization over the past decade. He emphasized that the core issue is not a lack of content supply but rather insufficient mechanisms for filtering and discovering high-quality content. In the current context, where AI can generate large amounts of content at low cost, the industry's goal should shift from 'incentivizing more content' to 'identifying and amplifying high-quality content.' Vitalik considers Substack a relatively successful example of creator incentivization, attributing its success to the platform's proactive efforts to filter and support quality creators rather than relying solely on mechanism design. He noted that existing creator token projects often face structural issues where 'high social influence users dominate rankings,' which does not truly reflect content quality. In terms of solutions, Vitalik proposed establishing a non-tokenized creator DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) where members vote to select creators while maintaining clear content focus and controlled scale to build a stable brand and commercial negotiation power. He also suggested allowing creators to issue personal tokens, which could be repurchased and burned using DAO revenue if the creator joins the DAO. This would transform speculators into 'predictors of quality creators,' reducing pure speculative cycles and improving the efficiency of high-quality content selection. Vitalik stated that future effective governance mechanisms may increasingly combine prediction markets with multi-party governance structures to enhance system resistance to manipulation and alignment with objectives.
