[Flow Confirms Permanent Destruction of 87.4 Billion Counterfeit FLOW Tokens, Security Incident Technical Fixes Fully Completed] The Flow Foundation has officially released an update on the progress of security incident fixes, confirming the permanent destruction of 87.4 billion counterfeit FLOW tokens. This marks the full completion of the technical resolution of the security incident that occurred on December 27, 2025. The destruction operation was executed on-chain by the Community Governance Committee, and all confiscated counterfeit assets have been completely removed from circulation, in line with the independent recovery plan disclosed during the prior technical review. Currently, validation nodes completed the deployment of security patches within 24 hours of the incident, and the network has since been operating normally, with additional security measures introduced at the protocol level. Furthermore, network operation data indicates that Flow has returned to a fully healthy state, processing over 3 million transactions in the past week. Core DeFi protocols have maintained normal operations, and with the completion of all security fixes, the focus will now shift to ecosystem expansion and product development. Earlier reports indicated that Flow suffered a $3.9 million loss due to a hacker attack, but user deposits were not affected. By mid-January, the Community Governance Committee had completed the final recovery of counterfeit FLOW tokens that remained unsettled on centralized exchanges, including Binance and HTX.
