[Vitalik Withdraws 16,384 ETH to Support Open-Source and Verifiable Technology Development]
Foresight News reports that Vitalik Buterin tweeted that the Ethereum Foundation is entering a period of moderate tightening to ensure the foundation's long-term sustainability while advancing its roadmap. To this end, Vitalik personally will take on some special projects previously under the foundation's purview and has withdrawn 16,384 ETH, planning to invest it over the coming years into the development of open-source, secure, and verifiable full-stack software and hardware.
These projects span fields such as finance, communication, governance, blockchain, operating systems, secure hardware, and biotechnology, aiming to protect personal lives and public environments. Specific areas of support mentioned by Vitalik include Vensa (open-source silicon chips), ucritter (integrating ZK, FHE, and differential privacy features), and encrypted communication applications. Additionally, he is exploring secure decentralized staking solutions to allocate more staking rewards toward these goals in the long term. The Ethereum Foundation will continue to focus on Ethereum core development, dedicated to providing infrastructure for those in need to achieve self-sovereignty.
