Nobel laureate in economics: The global economy is accelerating its divorce from the United States
According to Golden Finance, Nobel laureate in economics Paul Krugman recently issued a stern warning: as countries accelerate their escape from the Trump administration's "capricious and highly aggressive" policies, the United States' position in the international trade system is rapidly declining.
In the briefing released on Thursday, Krugman specifically mentioned the recent trade agreement between the European Union and India. Although von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, may be exaggerating in calling him the "mother of the agreement", Krugman believes that this historic agreement has released a clear signal that the global economy is accelerating its "divorce" from the United States. He pointed out that the world is increasingly distancing itself from the increasingly unreasonable United States.
