Gold is currently in a historically strong phase. In less than a month into 2026, gold prices have skyrocketed from the $4,300–$4,400 range at the end of 2025 to $5,500—basically the Bitcoin of 2021.
Reasons for the surge:
1. Global geopolitical uncertainty remains high
2. Temporary weakening of the US dollar + fluctuating Fed expectations
3. Central banks continue buying gold + ETF/institutional fund inflows
4. Exploding demand for safe-haven assets (macro uncertainty, election/policy risks, etc.)
Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are forecasting a target of $6,600. Domestic brokerages have a neutral prediction: a potential 34% increase in 2026.
