Global memory chip prices are skyrocketing: Dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) spot prices are up to a record average of $30.0. In fact, average spot prices for 16GB DDR4 are now up +2,352% YoY to $76.9. At the same time, 8GB DDR4 prices surged +1,873% YoY, to $28.9. 8GB LPDDR4 prices are up +752% YoY while 16GB DDR5 prices are up +647% YoY. Even contract prices set through long-term agreements are up +60% YoY and are expected to surge another +100% on average in 2026.
