[Analyst: The Federal Reserve May Not Cut Rates Before Powell Leaves Office, Waller Seeks Trump's Attention]
According to a report by Golden Finance, Carson Group's Chief Market Strategist Ryan Detrick stated that the Federal Reserve has not stirred up much action, and the market generally expects them to hit the pause button. Before Powell leaves the Federal Reserve after May, we are unlikely to see any rate cuts. The potential good news is that they mentioned some positive factors regarding the labor market, but inflation clearly remains a concern.
We know that Milan joined the Federal Reserve to shake things up, but Waller's choice is somewhat intriguing. His name is still on the list of potential candidates for the next chair, so I am sure he is also trying to catch Trump's attention to demonstrate his firm stance in the dovish camp. The independence of the Federal Reserve is indeed a real issue, and the next chair will face significant pressure to cut rates.
