[UK Advertising Standards Authority Bans Coinbase Ads for 'Social Irresponsibility'] Odaily Planet Daily News – The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has announced that video ads and posters released by Coinbase last August in London’s subway and train stations have been banned. The ASA stated that the ads, which depicted life struggles such as rising living costs and unemployment accompanied by lyrics saying 'Everything is fine,' implied that consumers should pursue financial transformation. The regulator believes these ads positioned Coinbase as an alternative to the traditional financial system while downplaying the risks of cryptocurrency. Coinbase responded by stating that the ads were intended to spark discussions about the current state of the financial system rather than offer simplified solutions. Regarding this incident, Brian Armstrong posted on the X platform, saying that updating the system and improving society is not a political statement but rather a commentary on the failure of the traditional financial system and cryptocurrency as a means of improvement.
