ERC-8004 is about to go live on the mainnet. This could very well be the new role Ethereum's ecosystem finds outside of DeFi. Each Agent has its own on-chain identity. The reputation system records service history and reviews on-chain. Anyone/smart contract can verify it. Once these 'assets' are created, their migration cost will be very high, similar to the liquidity migration cost in DeFi, forming a natural moat. New AI verification scenarios, AI Agent behavior verification—although ERC-8004 doesn’t directly include restaking, it provides a standard interface for verification requests/responses, meaning it can integrate ETH staking for validation. EigenLayer has also previously announced its layout for AI verifiability. ERC-8004 for AI verification is like ERC20 for token standards. For Ethereum, this is an expansion of structural capabilities.
