[Coinbase is testing the stablecoin USDF developed by Flipcash on its backend]
According to Cointelegraph, Coinbase is testing the stablecoin USDF developed by Flipcash as part of its 'Coinbase Custom Stablecoin' feature. This feature, launched in December last year, allows businesses to create their own branded USD stablecoins, collateralized by Circle's USDC, and supports seamless fund transfers across Coinbase-compatible chains.
Coinbase stated on the X platform that USDF is currently enabled for operational testing on the backend of the Coinbase exchange, but trading, deposits, and withdrawals are not yet available. Custom stablecoins can provide businesses with greater flexibility in areas such as payroll, B2B transactions, cross-border settlements, and fund management.
In addition to Flipcash, Solflare, a self-custody wallet focused on Solana, and the decentralized finance platform R2 are also collaborating with Coinbase to develop their own custom stablecoin solutions.
