It would actually be an improvement from the current approach if elected officials like @GovTimWalz or @MayorFrey actually shared the same instructions pictured below. Instead, Tim Walz used a bull horn from his backyard and said: “keep up the resistance” and/or “your resistance is making a difference.” In the past Walz has proclaimed: “words matter.” Well, when Tim Walz calls to "keep up the resistance”, he’s using a term that LITERALLY means to hinder, impede, or obstruct. While he may claim it’s just a slogan, 18 U.S.C. § 111 literally classifies the act of resisting or impeding federal officers as a crime. Let’s hope his call to @realDonaldTrump will lead to something novel - like state and local governments cooperating with federal authorities the way states, towns and cities cooperated with the FBI and ICE while @BarackObama was President. In MA, it’s time to end the total communications blackout implemented by Sanctuary policies. When a person is arrested and booked at a local jail their arrest, including fingerprints, was automatically shared with the FBI and ICE. And don’t let Michell Wu or @MassGovernor ⛽️ 💡 you - the Lunn decision in MA stated that local police could not detain or hold someone longer solely based on a civil ICE detainer - it did not rule that local authorities couldn’t share information. Communication is not detention. No law prevents a local jail from picking up the phone and notifying ICE that an individual who’s been arrested and charged with rape, child sexual assault, murder, drug distribution, or other crimes, is being released at specific time on a specific day. The only thing that prevents the local authorities from sharing that type of information are the Sanctuary policies supported and implemented by politicians who want to continue to push division. #mapoli #MASen #Deaton(John E Deaton)
