As of January, the inflow of funds into US ETFs has significantly exceeded historical highs, ranking among the top ten for cryptocurrency exits
The good news is that as of now, there is still a large amount of funds flowing into ETFs listed in the United States. In January, over 121.2 billion US dollars have already flowed into ETFs listed in the United States. How terrifying is this data?
Bloomberg's Eric has calculated that the average monthly net inflow of funds in history is $40 billion, while the historical record was $88 billion created last year. Now, before January ends, it has already exceeded the historical high of 40%.
These funds mainly enter ETFs related to the S&P 500, including VOO SPYM and RSP, with a total inflow of over $31.16 billion, accounting for about 25% of the total inflow.
From this, it can be inferred that although there are still many negative emotions in the market, investors are still placing bets on risk control for the US stock market. The amount of funds invested has significantly exceeded historical highs, indicating that investors believe that 2026 will be a bull market or the beginning of a bull market. This is not speculation, but rather investors are buying with a large amount of real gold and silver far exceeding historical records.
Unfortunately, in January 2025, IBIT, also known as BlackRock's BTC spot ETF, ranked sixth in terms of fund inflows. If I remember correctly, although ETH's spot ETF ETHA did not make it into the top ten, it still ranked thirteenth. However, by 2026, IBIT is no longer visible in the top ten.
This also indicates that traditional investors' interest in cryptocurrency has significantly declined compared to the same period last year. However, currently, cryptocurrency, at least Bitcoin, still maintains a certain linkage with the US stock market. Therefore, it can still be judged that as long as the US stock market is in an upward trend, the cryptocurrency industry will not be too bad.
