The plan includes, under governance approval, phasing out ECDSA-based external accounts (EOA) on the OP Mainnet and Superchain within 10 years. All ECDSA EOAs will need to delegate private key management to post-quantum smart contract accounts. After the transition period ends, OP Stack chains will gradually phase out transactions using original ECDSA signatures for EOAs. The OP Stack chains will follow a unified roadmap to ensure upgrades are synchronized across the entire Superchain network.
