[German MP Calls for the Repatriation of Over 1,200 Tons of Gold from the U.S.]
According to a report by German media on the 23rd, German MP Strack-Zimmermann has urged the German federal government to repatriate the gold reserves stored in the United States back to Germany. She stated that, given the increasing global uncertainties and the unpredictability of U.S. policies, it is no longer reasonable to store approximately 37% of Germany's gold reserves in New York. For decades, Germany has stored over 1,200 tons of gold reserves in the vaults of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in Manhattan. Currently, about half of Germany's gold reserves are stored in the country's financial center in Frankfurt, while another 13% are stored in London, the capital of the United Kingdom.
