[Pound Strengthens Against Dollar and Euro as Traders Lower Bets on Bank of England Rate Cuts] The pound rose 0.5% against both the dollar and the euro as the currency market reduced bets on Bank of England rate cuts. This followed a warning from Bank of England policymaker Megan Greene that declining U.S. interest rates would drive up UK inflation. The pound climbed 0.5% against the dollar to 1.36, the highest since last September. The pound fell 0.5% against the euro to 0.8661. (Cailian Press)
